About Alison Frank
In a world where there are rules to comply with, directions to follow and deadlines to be met, it's nothing short of liberating to work in a creative environment where I have complete and total artistic freedom. Nature walks and simply observing the world around me at my leisure, enables me to produce images that convey a sense of calm, beauty and joy. I'm a native New Yorker who spent many years in Hawaii before moving to my current home in Southern California. One night, a Chinese sage had a dream in which he was a butterfly fluttering over meadows and gardens. When he woke up, he sat at the edge of his bed and thought, "Am I a human who just dreamed he was a butterfly, or am I a butterfly who is now dreaming he's a human? " good question. I'm reminded of a statement by Edgar Alan Poe : "ALL THAT WE ARE OR SEEM TO BE IS A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM." Your work is beautifully inspiring, Alison.
Alison Frank replied:
What a beautiful comment. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such lovely words Bijan.
